RPM is the only complete solution supporting LPD and stream protocols
that enable users to receive and customize print jobs from any AS/400,
mainframe, UNIX or Windows-based system to any Windows printer - locally
or remotely. While many print servers only allow a straight pass-through
of data from the host system, RPM provides extensive formatting capabilities
in text printing, and the ability to work with third party software. |

Designed for Windows 95, 98 and Millennium Edition :: |
| |
Originally designed for Windows 95, RPM 9x has been
enhanced and updated to support the latest versions of Windows home
platforms, including Windows 98 and Windows Millennium Edition. Windows
XP Home Edition is not supported by RPM 9x since it is a Windows NT-based
platform. |
| ::
Supports 24 printers - Access up to 249 :: |
| |
Once licensed, RPM 9x supports printing to 24 printers;
however, if required, this limit can be increased up to 249. RPM does
not limit the number of print queues; the limit refers only to the
number of Windows printers. |
| ::
Brooks License Manager :: |
| |
A redesigned license manager has been implemented to
enhance ease of use. A license wizard guides users through a simple,
step-by-step process to unlock the software and any installed modules,
such as an increased number of printers. License manager allows unassisted
reinstallation by generating the same serial number each time it is
installed. Web-unlock can now connect through a proxy server/firewall
using existing proxy server configuration, or if need, a separate
proxy server configuration is also provided. |
| ::
Runs as a Windows Application :: |
| |
RPM 9x installs as a standard Windows application, requiring
a user to be logged-on in order for RPM to receive and print incoming
data. RPM 9x can be started manually, through a shortcut in the Startup
folder, or can be configured to start automatically in the Windows
registry. |
| ::
Run Completely Hidden :: |
| |
RPM 9x can run completely hidden from users through
the Complete Hide option. Initially, the RPM icon is displayed in
the Windows task tray, but may be completely "hidden" from
users, reducing interference or modification of the RPM configuration. |
| ::
Print Error Recovery
:: |
| |
Previous RPM 9x versions suspend queues when an error
is detected with a Windows resource. RPM now automatically resumes
processing when the error is resolved, reducing time spent administering
queues. |
| |
A new resource scheduler has been designed to provide
faster turnaround for all printing tasks and use Windows resources
with greater efficiency. |
